Always having had an eye for detail, and a keen interest in design, Jewellery was a fitting move for Yorkshire based Michael, from an early age.
Straight from School
At 16 Michael entered the jewellery trade, working for a Leeds based manufacturers, and learning a range of skills, chose setting as his specialism.
Manufacturers
From there he moved to another Yorkshire manufacturers to learn more about production setting and also worked with trainees and on making the workshop more efficient.
Retail Jeweller
His next move was to well respected Leeds retailer, Berry's, in West Yorkshire, working on their own production, gaining yet more experience in setting and finishing.
Management
Michael then returned to manufacturing, to the largest manufacturers of jewellery in Europe, to work on the production of their 18 carat range, once again based in Leeds.
Helping to build a team of jewellers to work on high end 18 carat and platinum jewellery Michael gained a managerial position. Whilst there he also worked in product development, in consultation with International companies on the creation of new jewellery ranges.
Before setting up Form, Michael moved into a position of Technical Support Manager, with this same manufacturers, to help create a new workshop for the company’s 18 carat production area.
...From here the next step was the creation of Form Bespoke Jewellers Ltd, and here you'll find him today setting bespoke engagement rings and wedding rings, as well as creating a range of bespoke gift pieces for Form's customers.
