Marianne Career History

Marianne joined Form Bespoke Jewellers in 2009

Developing a Passion for Jewellery
After obtaining a BA (Hons) Degree in Hospitality Management in 1994, which included a placement year working at the world famous Banff Springs Hotel in the Banff National Park, Canada, Marianne won a place on the John Lewis Partnerships' graduate management development program. It was during her position as retail section manager of the fine Jewellery and Fashion Accessories department that Marianne developed her love of working with jewellery and after attending the London buyers conference, Marianne decided to specialise in the jewellery industry.

Gold Product Development
In 1998 Marianne began working as a buyer and product developer for the largest gold and gem set manufacturer and wholesaler in Europe, where she looked after large multiple retailers as well as the Independent jewellery sector. Managing a worldwide supply base of over 100, Marianne frequently attended trade fairs in Europe and America working closely with designers, suppliers and manufacturers in developing new collections for the UK market including the 'Gorgeous Gold' range. It was whilst working in the creative departments she met both Tim Swann and Gary Thompson.

Independent Gold and Gem set Range Developer
In 2002 Marianne took over responsibility for the product development, sourcing, range development and product lifecycle of both the gold and gem set Independent Jewellery ranges, managing a team of three, with a national sales force of 13 and extending her supply base to Asia and the Far East. With her focus now on the higher end of the jewellery market Marianne worked closely developing the Costco Jewellery range. This new role combined her flair for cost targeted product development and analytical skills. Marianne also worked closely on the brand marketing of the collection and creating the company website.

Form Bespoke Jewellers
After taking time out to start her family Marianne continued to work on jewellery projects and attending European trade fairs and in 2009 Form Bespoke Jewellers asked her to join their business as it continued to expand. Marianne's focus is on growing the companies profile though their website and local marketing as well as managing the companies administrative needs. Her strong industry knowledge and customer skills enable her to support the creative side of the business. Marianne is looking forward to being part of this growing exciting business, delivering beautiful bespoke jewellery to suit all budgets.
