A diarised account of the creation of this customers wedding ring from design conception to finished ring...240 miles away!
At Form Bespoke Jewellers we know that we have unique skills and customer service which set us apart from our competitors and so we are delighted to have started working with a customer who lives in Southampton 240 miles away from our studio in Chapel Allerton, Leeds. Although this is not the first long distance customer that we have worked with, we wanted to share with you the exciting process of taking the initial idea to creating the finished piece by giving you a diarised account of our service which can happen face to face or in this case by the use of email, visuals and of course the telephone!
Mid August 2011; we were contacted by a customer who had found our website whilst looking on the internet and contacted us to see if we would be able to create a design for his daughter’s wedding ring. Form Bespoke Jewellers set about preparing quotations to a variety of different specifications and measurement to give the customer an idea of that was possible and at what costs.
Mid Sept 2011; A few weeks later the customer came back to us with a more definitive design which they asked Form Bespoke Jewellers to use their expertise to help create. The team at Form Bespoke Jewellers created a series of designs and quotations which were emailed to the customer to consider and the final design was created; two rows of round brilliant cut diamonds to be set into a handmade 6mm platinum band. The team were able to provide a breakdown of the exact measurements so that the customer could visualise the ring as well as understand the technical design.
End September 2011; At this stage the customer approved the design and commissioned us to create their wedding ring. We were able to take the customers deposit payment of 30% over the phone and begin working straight away on creating their model by hand.
2nd Week October; We have just received the pewter prototype model back from the customer, which we sent through secure post for them to view and approve. They are delighted with the model and have given us the green light to cast into Platinum!
