Live On Air; Listen to Form's creative director Tim Swann talking 'diamonds' on Radio Leeds
Sotheby’s Geneva are auctioning the one of the worlds most desirable diamonds in the world today, the 24.78 carat fancy intense pink diamond is a "flawless" emerald-cut, the diamond is mounted on a ring and has been valued by the auctioneers at 27 to 38 million US dollars and is expected to be the most expensive diamond ever sold.
To discuss the value of diamonds in advance of this auction Radio Leeds invited Tim Swann, Form Bespoke Jewellers creative director to give their listeners a bit of insight into the diamond world.
Armed with some beautiful diamonds including a 0.50ct and a 0.91ct diamond due to be set into customer's rings later this week, Tim went to the studio in Leeds city centre and explained the reasons behind the allure and the cost of these beautiful stones live on air.
Running through the four C's, cut, clarity, colour and carat, Tim explained the way in which diamonds are sold and graded, giving the listeners pointers in what to look for when buying a diamond and explaining why the diamond up for auction is valued so highly.
Tim also explained how Form Bespoke Jewellers ensure their diamonds are conflict free though ethical sourcing though our trusted supply base and the Kimberly Process.
When asked if the recession was affecting the sale of diamonds, Tim explained that if anything customers are just keen to commit to each other but they are definitely shopping around more to ensure they get the best deal, which is where Form Bespoke Jewellers beat the high street hands down with their low pricing, bespoke design and fantastic service.
Tim finished the interview confirming that diamonds continue to be popular due to their beauty and rarity, and if you are thinking of passing off a CZ for a diamond beware, because it will be obvious to the trained eye...they just don't compare!!!
